Симптоматично лечение при периферни невропатии

Лечението при периферните невропатии се ръководи от два общи в медицината принципа: лечение на основното заболяване (етиологично, патогенетично) и лечение за облекчаване на отделните симптоми, независимо от етиологията (симптоматично).
Симптоматичното лечение зависи от вида на засегнатите влакна на периферните нерви – двигателни, сетивни и/или автономни. Възможностите за повлияване на двигателните симптоми са ограничени. Липсва ефективно лечение на мускулната слабост. Възможно е подобрение на симптоми като крампи и фасцикулации. Успешно е повлияването при автономни симптоми, като ортостатична хипо тензия, гастроинтестинални, уринарни, сексуални смущения, нарушено потоотделяне. Лечението се осъщест вява от мултидисциплинарен екип. Най-успешно е лечението на невропатната болка, която е основен проблем при засягане на сетивните влакна на периферните нерви. Медикаментозното лечение на невропатната болка е успешно и включва няколко класа орални и топични медикаменти, основни сред тях са антидепресантите и антиепилептичните средства.
Въпреки напредъка в медицината, симптоматичното лечение при периферни невропатии е незадоволително, което налага провеждане на допълнителни проучвания.
